Obituary

Leroy Jennings was born in Live Oak, FL. on June 6, 1947. He passed away on May 12th, 2026, at 4:34 p.m. at PAM Specialty Hospital in Jacksonville, FL.

He was born to the late Union Frank Jennings (his dad) & Idella Arnold (his mom).

He attended Douglas High School, where he played football, his favorite sport. After high school, he was employed in pulpwood as a cutter and logger. It was his favorite job until he was force to give it up after getting injured, cut in the face and hand by a chainsaw. Later, he worked as a forklift driver, started at the farmers market and finished at Corbett’s Cypress.He enjoyed watching westerns, playing bingo, fishing, and messing with people at the internet cafés. He met his lovely wife Claretha in 1971, where they got married and had 4 kids.

He had two sisters preceded him in death: Betty Jean (Eddie) Smith and Catherene (Wallace) Thompson. (late Wallace Thompso, and one brother Floyd (Mary)Arnold.

He leaves to cherish his long time loving wife, Claretha Jennings. His sisters and brothers-in-law: Bobby (Bow) Richards, Jenny (waldo) Johnson, Rose (James) Jones, Anna (Rodney) Owens, the late R.J. Robinson, the late A.J. Robinson, the late Archie (Angie) Robinson, and Fredrick Robinson.

His loving kids, which two has preceded him in death: Billy Plummer & Shamaka Jennings. Yvette Mays - Nedra (Arthur) Timmons - Rhonda Jennings - Irene (Kenny) Murray - Leroy (Twan) Jennings Jr - Frank Jennings - Travis Jennings - Arthur Jennings, 28 grands & 30 great grands. A host of nieces & nephews and sorrowing friends, special devoted friend: Ernest Shepherd.
